Patient partnership is important and we have policies to ensure that everyone is empowered to participate in our work, feels supported, and is kept safe.

We recognise some discussion topics may be difficult for a variety of reasons and it takes courage to share health experiences that may leave patients feeling vulnerable. That's why we have a Code of conduct for working in partnership with patients, to ensure all patients involved in our activities know how to seek help and support if they need it.

We also have a Policy on patient partnership in our internal work, which has information on how the Patients Association involves patients in its work. It explains why we think patient partnership is important, how we ensure everyone feels supported, and how we reimburse people for their gift of time.
